SiPS General Information
Signal processing is one of the main current happenings in the world of telecommunication and media. Most of the telecommunication devices that we use nowadays work with the help of digital signal processing systems and this is why they have come to occupy an important place in the research field as well as the actual industries of media and telecommunications. There is even a signal processing journal where specialists can keep themselves informed about the latest developments in the field. Every year, specialists in signal processing systems would meet somewhere in the world to discuss about various subjects related to the development or implementation of a signal processing system.
The annual workshop on signal digital processing is held each time in a different place. In 2007 the SiPS as it is called was held in China and it gather specialists in media and telecommunications from all over the world. The conference is aimed to provide these specialists as well as other interested individuals with a platform where they can discuss about the new developments, the progress and innovations in the implementations and design of these systems. The first such conference was help for the first time in 1982. Up to 1997, the workshop became so popular that it gather more and more specialists, from other areas connected to multimedia and telecommunications and it had changed its name in Signal Processing Systems from VLSI Signal processing.
Important topics in the SiPS conferences include multimedia and its several sub-topics such as multidimensional signal processing, medical applications, machine vision and intelligence. Also, network and communication plays an important role in SiPS as well as systems and architectures where specialists would talk about the different designs and tools that could be useful in further developing and progressing in the area of signal processing so be sure to keep this in mind.
